Lady Cyclones continue to roll with a win over Central

FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones continued to have a strong week picking up win number three of the week against Three Rivers Conference foe Sullivan Central on Thursday at Lady Cyclone Diamond.

Coming off a ten-inning win over Unicoi County on the road Tuesday, the Lady Cyclones jumped out front quickly and never looked back in taking a 7-0 victory.

Pitcher Madisun Pritchard helped her cause in the bottom of the first when she ripped a double to drive in Maddie O’Quinn who had singled prior to Pritchard stepping to the plate.

The Lady Cyclones added to their lead with three runs in the bottom of the third and three more in the bottom of the fourth.

In the third inning, Ember Jensen singled and Pritchard reached on an error allowing Jensen to come home. Pritchard, who advanced to second on the error, scored when first baseman Kallista DePrimo tore into a pitch for a double to chase home Pritchard.

DePrimo scampered home on a Kenidy Harris double making it 4-0 Elizabethton.

Emma O’Quinn singled to start the bottom of the fourth inning and a bobble on a Jensen ground ball allowed O’Quinn to race to third with Jensen safe at first base.

Jensen stole second base and Maddie O’Quinn stepped to the plate and doubled to bring home her sister Emma to make it 5-0 Lady Cyclones.

A sacrifice fly by Pritchard scored Jensen and Maddie O’Quinn raced home on a passed ball to give the Lady Cyclones all the runs they needed to take the win.

Pritchard went the distance issuing only one base hit while striking out five and walking one. Out of 74 pitches, Pritchard placed 53 over for strikes.

Elizabethton had eight hits on the day. Maddie O’Quinn had two hits in four trips while Jensen, Pritchard, DePrimo, Harris, Cheyenne Poiroux, and Emma O’Quinn registered one hit each.
